Truth be told, as much as I am always up for the challenge, it is darn exhausting. I have now gained a new level of respect to those parents who chose to do this full time, being away from their partner and having to deal with parenting and home needs alone. What's more when they have a day job or a business to run.<p></p><p>To you, I salute.</p><p>I guess the only thing that is holding me up that this is all temporary. Husband is settling down well in Doha, but he too has a lot of things running through his mind, adapting to a new environment and to a new country, being homesick and having to deal with all the papers and formalities needed to start building a new home for us there.</p><p>Oh ya, I did not make the announcement. Yes, we are uprooting and moving to Doha, Qatar soon. How I feel about it deserves a whole other post, which I will do, as I find myself gravitating back to writing as it is cathartic and helps me ground myself.</p><p>The other day I broke down after my Isyak prayers. It was too overwhelming. It's heavy, it's dark. It's like being bombarded with layers and layers of heavy blanket. Just when you are about to breathe again, there's another thing to be done, another thing to think of. It never ends.</p><p>Preparations for our move, things to settle here before we leave. My children's needs, my business needs. My own needs. Missing my husband. Chores. Errands. It's crazy. Beautiful kind of crazy because I have a wonderful life to be thankful about. But, I have to acknowledge the overwhelming feeling and I can not ignore how it makes me feel and be in denial about it.</p><p>Esfahan was playing with his toys, his brother and sister is away at their grandparents. I took the time to absorb the emotions I was feeling. Crying makes me feel a lot better. This surge of energy that flows out, it's an overflow that I needed to let go.</p><p>He saw me crying and took a break from his wonderful imaginary play with his toy cars and came over to give me a hug. He held my face, wiped away my tears and sat on my lap. Gave me this sweet innocent look of "Mummy, you are gonna be OK". I don't know what I did right with this sweetheart of mine, but I know that I am grateful that he is showing compassion even at this very young age.</p><p>I felt a lot better.</p><p>Most nights ends with exhaustion these days. I am managing. Finding ways to prioritize things, and not let anxiety set in. Journalling helps, eventhough I rarely have time to sit down quietly to write but I do it as much as I can.</p><p>I am not apologising for feeling this way. If there's one thing I learned about emotions, it's when I don't embrace it is when it is the most dangerous. Letting it flow, finding ways to let it naturally ease off is the best way that works for me. It may take time, but it is for the better.</p>Ayuni A.http://www.blogger.com/profile/12955725674071317069noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25098622.post-6615603891175836942021-11-07T18:00:00.000+08:002021-11-07T18:00:21.745+08:00I am doing a social media detox and it feels amazing.<p><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidkQQXA1SjRiky0QIfXClvnGSpTjaO_GLyToEFPnuQH9_XFZmn9_7Tji1-1hK6s6cwhu91iqRBAXjtYUiKU7l6dWhyK4gK_vWTdFfWVGJBGSJVO5yp5R6GgNswCUVUDSDvGIXmDg/s2048/7856946F-D069-4F2A-B193-F903104D9A62.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1152" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidkQQXA1SjRiky0QIfXClvnGSpTjaO_GLyToEFPnuQH9_XFZmn9_7Tji1-1hK6s6cwhu91iqRBAXjtYUiKU7l6dWhyK4gK_vWTdFfWVGJBGSJVO5yp5R6GgNswCUVUDSDvGIXmDg/w360-h640/7856946F-D069-4F2A-B193-F903104D9A62.JPG" width="360" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td></tr></tbody></table><br />It has been a full 24 hours since I uninstalled Instagram and Facebook on my phone. </p><p>How do I feel?</p><p>I feel AMAZING.</p><p>Suddenly it feels like time has expanded, and there's more space in my head to focus on the things that I have been meaning to do all this while.</p><p>I have better focus & clarity, less negative "talks" going through my head that constantly scrutinizes myself and I start hearing more of the positive voices. Wow I thought that I am OK and it's manageable, but truth is, it does gets to me.</p><p>What led me to do it, you may ask? </p><p>Well, this is not the first time I have done it. But I had this build up of this feeling that invited the imposter syndrome in myself, especially when it comes to me as mum and entrepreneur. Not sure if you have ever felt that way. You find yourself consuming post after post, story after story, reels after reels and in the end it left you feeling like you're just not enough. Not done enough. Not having enough.</p><p>As a person who uses socmed a lot, I am aware of the fact that is is always a curated content designed to project only the good things about ones life/endeavour. However sometimes as a human being, it does get challenging.</p><p>Time also flies by unproductively when we are drown in consuming too much social media. Ever had that moment when you meant to do one thing, but in the end you found out that you have wasted away an hour on the phone? That's pretty scary when it happens, I really don't like it but I find myself falling down the rabbit hole every now and then.</p><p>One day, I had enough and I just hold the app button and selected "Remove App".</p><p>IT FELT SO GOOD.</p><p>One scary thing that I realized too is that I found myself reaching for the phone almost like in auto-pilot mode. My fingers immediately navigated to where Instagram and Facebook used to be. Wow, that's also pretty scary at how it has become such a habit.</p><p>Ah, the perils.</p><p>However, as a mumpreneur with a home-based business, the truth is I can't fully detach myself from social media. I have to admit that social media is one of my strongest platform for my personal branding & marketing, and I do love creating contents for my audiences and adding value to them.</p><p>I think the key is being aware about how we consume things, and being intentional with what kind of contents that we are subscribing to. Self-discipline in terms of being on socmed also plays an important role for productivity because as we all know we are all now living in this giant distraction era that is social media.</p><p>Being aware of our own feelings and emotions is super important too. I think what helped me to kickstart this "detox" is awareness of that negative feeling and thankfully, I have trained myself to try to disrupt it by finding ways to climb out of that hole. It's a process definitely, I am still learning to do it faster instead of letting myself spiral.</p><p>I'll probably turn on IG and FB on my phone again in a few days. I do visit it on my laptop when I need information, but so far, I am not spending time there and I am committed to this time-off.</p><p>I hope that I'll come back refreshed and more intentional in the way I use social media.</p><p>How about you? Have you experienced what I experienced? What did you do to fix yourself?</p>Ayuni A.http://www.blogger.com/profile/12955725674071317069noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25098622.post-74605164642231680132021-10-21T17:48:00.002+08:002021-10-24T22:03:16.608+08:00A warm welcome to myself.<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7VmzXdHvZUK4lD_QJ4YaQiq_u2YiTmawjneEL68BemAa6gU-7IvQwi0xXjvb-uYaomoleEIWYj6ml0kb8Og5cQXBBcAetdvYMom8Ex8RB1bwpHAVdokXjOm45abhPKfUdXFRZNQ/s4592/DSC08706.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3056" data-original-width="4592" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7VmzXdHvZUK4lD_QJ4YaQiq_u2YiTmawjneEL68BemAa6gU-7IvQwi0xXjvb-uYaomoleEIWYj6ml0kb8Og5cQXBBcAetdvYMom8Ex8RB1bwpHAVdokXjOm45abhPKfUdXFRZNQ/w640-h426/DSC08706.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /><p>I don't know what to say specifically, now that I am posting here again.</p><p>You'd probably notice the different look of this blog though - I decided to change it as a mark of a new beginning. As I get older there's one thing that I have started to appreciate, that's finding joy in simplicity.</p><p>The previous layout was full of technicalities that is quite cumbersome to edit and what nots..so I decided to just use whatever layout Blogger is providing and I figured that with the right photo this blog will still look pretty.</p><p>I hope you like it just like I do :)</p><p>I have thought of moving platform to Wordpress, or maybe start a new site on all those fancy website creators out there. But you know what, I'll just stay. Again, why reinvent the wheel right? It's not like I have plenty of time to waste.</p><p>I still enjoy reading my old posts here, I find it nostalgic and wow, I have grown so much from the day I first became a mom.</p><p>How have you been? I hope that wherever you are, things are starting to get better, what's with the pandemic and all. Can't believe that it has been almost 2 years since the pandemic hit us. So many lessons to learn out of it, but amid the uncertainties, so many things to be grateful of too.</p><p>For me I am grateful that I get to spend more time with the children at home. Although I think at this point of time they really badly need to go school again.</p><p>I have been dabbling in a new hobby though - aesthetic videography. Not really sure if this is something that I'll be doing for a long time, but to be good at something, we just gotta start somewhere right?</p><p>So here's a little video that I have made today, something I had for teatime.</p><p>Let me know what you think? :)</p>

2018 school break is almost here, what's your plan for the holidays? Kids must be so excited to welcome the school break (it's very apparent in Bella lol), but being 7 months pregnant with our 3rd baby means I don't think we are going anywhere far soon.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Anyway, as an option for the holidays, I was honoured to be given the opportunity to experience firsthand the wonders of I-City in Shah Alam, through our weekend staycation at <a href="http://www.bestwestern-icity.my/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Best Western I-City</a> last weekend. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdkQUW51EHfZbDg-79MOcVMNZ7kd32er5Wa6hENrd76_CYUrRo_WLV5BnO2R4VFhHH3b8XLxTZMJI27h0Ked3eagdSksTbVmwQ7oxx26x9JW8G_zwta362_WgXLWEZpLdbGq5BZw/s1600/IMG_0253.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdkQUW51EHfZbDg-79MOcVMNZ7kd32er5Wa6hENrd76_CYUrRo_WLV5BnO2R4VFhHH3b8XLxTZMJI27h0Ked3eagdSksTbVmwQ7oxx26x9JW8G_zwta362_WgXLWEZpLdbGq5BZw/s640/IMG_0253.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
It was really fun for the kids, and I think it's a good place to entertain them if you happen to be in Shah Alam.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
So what we did was enjoy the special Stay and Splash school holiday package offered by the hotel for the upcoming holiday season.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
With it comes a 2D1N stay in Best Western I-City Shah Alam, breakfast for 2 and admission for 2 adults into the Waterworld, which is located like a 2-mins walk away from the hotel.</div>
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Let me take you through a tour of the hotel itself. I personally think it did a great job going the extra mile to ensure their patrons enjoy their stay, particularly with kids in tow.</div>
<br />
Best Western I-City Shah Alam is located within the compound of I-City itself, making it easy to access all the features and theme parks of I-City (walking distance).<br />
<br />
If you are staying here, all you need to do is park your car in the hotel parking and enjoy I-City for the rest of your stay without necessarily having to drive out. There's even eateries around here, like Subway and KFC too. Parking for patrons is complimentary, so no need to worry about parking fees too.<br />
<br />
Upon check-in, the kids were so happy that they actually get to rent a fish to bring up to our room and keep throughout our stay. The staff will do the feeding twice a day every day. Kids love to have pets so this is a great idea to make them feel welcomed.<br />
<br />
There's also a free-flow popcorn for the family, apart from welcome drinks. Khaleeli had 2 helpings of popcorns (big fan obviously).<br />
<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Our adopted fish was Grace. Bella and Khaleeli absolutely adored it, I had to make sure they don't carry the jar around like they carry a kitten. LOL.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
We checked in to a room with a king-sized bed, but because the kids are bigger, we also had an extra bed for comfort. It was quite spacious and comfortable for the 4 of us, the washroom is designed tastefully with a modern touch too.</div>

We planned to hit the Waterworld in the afternoon of our first day, but because it was raining heavily we decided to just do it the next day.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So for the afternoon, we hit the theme parks instead, particularly the Space Mission and 3D Trick Art Museum. At night, we went to the Ferris Wheel and kiddie rides and feasted our eyes on the pretty LED light trees that lit up at night. </div>

Since it is a Sunday, we also had a chance to enjoy the special Sunday Hi-Tea at The View Cafe, with a sumptuous spread of buffet that runs from 12.30pm - 4pm. What's unique about it is that they thoughtfully set up a kids area to keep the kids occupied with colouring while mommy and daddy eat, as well as fun games for them to play.</div>

Ramadhan is here, and living in a beautiful country like Malaysia I am always thankful for plenty of food and dining options for us to enjoy with our beloved family and friends.</div>
<br />
So in case you guys are in the vicinity of Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur, or maybe you are looking for a private and cosy place to spend iftar with your loved ones, how about checking out this sumptuous Iftar set from Hugo's KL in Ramada KLCC?<br />
<br />
I was invited to sample the food for iftar in Hugo's KL this year, and here are some photos and recommendations if you would like to give it a go. All these come with a set, served with soup, choice of samosa or beef murtabak, dates, cut fruits and Sirap Bandung or Teh Tarik.<br />

But when I do, I have vowed to try my best to make it a complete project.<br />
<br />
My heart aches whenever I see my incomplete projects stash, mostly because I feel ashamed of myself for not finishing what I started. Part of my heart just want to discard them for good, but I admit that part of me still wants to hold on, in case I can get back around someday (which I highly doubt). LOL. The dilemma.<br />
<br />
Anyway, just feeling like sharing my complete projects so far:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjt2RNcCk-Ni2g1trNFHQJHgBejTs1mfqHKx34gl0nE0vxK4jiBakyqdjadFI6rwA7jxIz9WlpCRQk4iM22xmKojYAZ9WUQIqB6yJzEcfQv-5cCHI_4AXVEVFbQPpKTgoeYla5fcg/s1600/bella+dress.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="800" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjt2RNcCk-Ni2g1trNFHQJHgBejTs1mfqHKx34gl0nE0vxK4jiBakyqdjadFI6rwA7jxIz9WlpCRQk4iM22xmKojYAZ9WUQIqB6yJzEcfQv-5cCHI_4AXVEVFbQPpKTgoeYla5fcg/s640/bella+dress.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I sew this dress for Bella for her to wear during my brother's wedding reception in March 2018. It was my first time sewing with a silk-ish material, but the fabric was still manageable. I had fun doing it, except for the part where I gathered the skirt unevenly and ended up having to pick and restitch. Bella was comfortable to run around in it, and it's her official party dress for now. LOL. I used a store-bought pattern from Spotlight - namely Butterick 3350.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I had the opportunity to finally <a href="http://www.mommyconfessionals.com/2018/05/crafty-fun-at-modern-sewing-market-2018.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">learn hand embroidery with Barbara from @sartorialstitches at the Modern Sewing Market 2018</a> last month. A week later I managed to finish my first hand embroidery project. Yeay. I used 4 kinds of stitches in this project - the fishbone stitch for the leaves, French knots for the yellow buds, lazy daisy stitch for the blue daisies and woven wheel stitch for the roses. May this be the beginning of more projects in the future. Hehe.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I made simple zipper pouches for Bella's teachers for Teacher's Day last week. I even spent some time making handmade pompoms using yarns. I used the tutorial for pouch and pompoms by my favourite YouTube sewist, Made Everyday with Dana. Learn <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1AsfZRYlRM" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">how to sew a lined zipper pouch </a>from Dana here, and <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJT1cGeE1nI" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">how to make yarn pompoms here</a>!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I am still contemplating whether to sew some Raya outfits for the kids this year. Maybe a baju Melayu top for Khaleeli and kurung for Bella. Not sure yet.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Anyhow, there are still so many fabrics to make use of, sitting idly in my stash. Gotta make something out of it pronto.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The first thing that I did after I left my job was learning to sew.</div>
<br />
I remembered signing up for a basic sewing class at Spotlight and I was so eager to start. The next thing I knew I was sewing so many kinds of things, mostly for the kids.<br />
<br />
After my first sewing machine, I started stocking up on fabric and sewing tools, and then just like that I had a little sewing space of my own.<br />
<br />
Besides doing that, I started following a community of crafters and sewists online, especially on Instagram. It's so lovely to see that there are in fact so many of them, from hobbyist to downright serious sewists who do what they love for a living.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfVz44q3yFDltfzjqWNc6crnK4UYZGrXr74LCZMEDyS0C6gmv50wdy5EnG8VAw4BZWR2uTLQLH01jBcMH2emquLdms-DfGjgSOtISeNrD46PhbtXNvc6nthAJPBGOb7FTtrLxx6A/s1600/IMG_0213.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfVz44q3yFDltfzjqWNc6crnK4UYZGrXr74LCZMEDyS0C6gmv50wdy5EnG8VAw4BZWR2uTLQLH01jBcMH2emquLdms-DfGjgSOtISeNrD46PhbtXNvc6nthAJPBGOb7FTtrLxx6A/s640/IMG_0213.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
This year, I finally get to join the Modern Sewing Market 2018, organized by a bunch of passionate and dedicated sewists purely out of their passion in sewing. Since 2017, they have this annual gathering of like-minded sewists to come together in support of each other and in support of stashing-up and de-stashing their beautiful collection of fabrics and sewing supplies.<br />
<br />
I was also invited to emcee for their networking brunch, which was really fun and happening!<br />
<br />

</tbody></table>
<br />After the brunch, I also joined a hand-embroidery workshop with Barbara from Sartorial Stitches (follow her on IG at @sartorialstitches for details on classes) and finally learned how to do my own hand embroidery!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
There were so many booths selling beautiful and rare fabrics, also a booth by sponsors like Fiskars and LSN. There were also lots of workshops for so many different kinds of sewing and crafting, such as basic sewing, fabric painting, shibori tie-dye and many more.<br />

During my previous pregnancies, I loathed the fact that I had to settle for only one type of bra that was comfortable enough for my growing and changing body. For the whole 9 months, I only had to live in a limited number of bras and boy did I wear them until they are worn off.</div>
<br />
Even after I gave birth, searching for the right fit for my nursing bra was also a nightmare, and again, I had to settle for a few pieces that were the least of all evils (read: still with poking underwires that make you go ahh when you finally get to take it off your body).<br />

I just came to know the term bralette (well apparently it is the IN thing in lingerie right now) and how lovely it is to find out that the awesome store Summer & Peach has an <a href="https://summer-peaches.myshopify.com/collections/maternity" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">exclusive maternity and nursing range bralette collection!</a><br />
<br />
Preggy and nursing moms these days really have things WAYYYY easier and yes, we better be grateful for that.<br />

<br />
So I have actually given it a try, and it is indeed quite comfortable to be worn. The lace is actually very soft and not ticklish, and with removable pads, it can easily be turned into a lounge-wear bra that you can wear at home.<br />
<br />
The racerback straps are also great, as it is optional and provides extra support if you need it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYFA4DeN2HxtWXgYnZE1TUu0YZXHZx1T2CyE1sKpncFuA9pwhFDu92w2uuha-FoeVcKqdq1kCi4_-brsDlmwJ3dQZcbxSRKpxGJSLNTpnbISlAfPBmhU3ZnctwikSEMSVq5XfUeQ/s1600/IMG_2115.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYFA4DeN2HxtWXgYnZE1TUu0YZXHZx1T2CyE1sKpncFuA9pwhFDu92w2uuha-FoeVcKqdq1kCi4_-brsDlmwJ3dQZcbxSRKpxGJSLNTpnbISlAfPBmhU3ZnctwikSEMSVq5XfUeQ/s640/IMG_2115.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>

Yep - behold the nursing fastener there. YEAY FOR NURSING MOTHERS!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So besides these lovely bralette collections, Summer & Peach also has this cool <a href="https://summer-peaches.myshopify.com/collections/sale/products/pms-period-starter-kit" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">PMS Starter Kit</a> that I think makes an awesome gift for the young ladies in our lives (I think my sister will love this..hmm).</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
What you can find in this brilliant kit are 3 pieces of leakproof panties, a box of Be Boldz Premium Sanitary Pad, a box of Be Bolds Premium Panty Liners and a cute little Happy Tummy Warm Pouch to help ease period pain. Clever.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I have personally tried the panties and the liners too. My verdict is that the panty really adds a tad more confidence when you wear it during menstruation as you know you have extra protection from leakage.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
As for the liners, I really vouch for it because compared to other many brands that I have tried, this one is SO SOFT and seriously made me forgot that I am wearing it. Not to mention that it is so DRY too, which to me is a very important criterion for any daily liner. Five stars!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhuc3kyHxkQHkEhiJGSEJgl31k0Ko8MxkB6d7gCfvyibEhijmBAkK6rDfG2TwNY29yY8zCQpvND_cwXX9R5h2LFUxAptYCRZm0o17iK3WkbQbqHnnlEs9Bqfo_fg3B0FLWmlUapZg/s1600/IMG_2142.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhuc3kyHxkQHkEhiJGSEJgl31k0Ko8MxkB6d7gCfvyibEhijmBAkK6rDfG2TwNY29yY8zCQpvND_cwXX9R5h2LFUxAptYCRZm0o17iK3WkbQbqHnnlEs9Bqfo_fg3B0FLWmlUapZg/s640/IMG_2142.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Last but not least, I also had the chance to try their <a href="https://summer-peaches.myshopify.com/collections/panties/products/high-waist-shaper-panties-3-pack" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">High Waist Shaper Panties,</a> which we all know is perfect to be worn with Baju Raya soon. Heheh. Although I do feel like it could be more conforming to the body (well, anymore tighter it will turn into a corset already), I think it is practical and comfortable enough to be worn as a daily wear.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Thank you so much for introducing your amazing stuff, Summer & Peach.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<br />
When I first decided to <a href="http://www.mommyconfessionals.com/2015/11/how-to-become-a-work-at-home-mom.html" target="_blank">quit a full time job and be a work-at-home-mom</a>, I admit that the biggest challenge was finance.<br />
<br />
Yes, it is NEVER an easy decision.<br />
<br />
To part with a stable and consistent income, especially when you already work for a cushy corporate job for almost 9 years - saying farewell can sometimes be deemed crazy.<br />
<br />
But I did anyway.<br />
<br />
Although I must admit that the biggest factor that helped me make my mind was that I was very close to finishing my hire-purchase (car) loan and a personal loan that I started during my early days in the workforce.<br />
<br />
What happens next is also not an easy feat.<br />
<br />
A change of lifestyle, spending habits are TOTALLY REQUIRED if you decide to leave a stable income and build a new one (this is my case as I actually started a new career in freelance writing).<br />
<br />
And it is also NEVER EASY.<br />
<br />
Ever since I started freelancing and working on a pay-per-gig basis, I still need to adjust my spending habits and reconsider my lifestyle. Especially when it comes to purchasing things on a whim, you know that kind of "pejam mata je dan bayar" kind of attitude, or those episodes of impulsive shopping (that was really fun tho LOL).<br />
<br />
I must say that now, at least, I have learned to think many times before purchasing something. Or to plan ahead on how to save and finally obtain something that I really want.<br />
<br />
Another part of finance is also the management of grocery spending and eating out. This part, I am really bad at. With growing kids, we really can feel the impact of eating out these days. We can't simply share meals anymore, now that Bella is all grown up and Khaleeli too.<br />
<br />
So this year, I plan to manage these expenses better. Hopefully by doing some simple tracking in my journal and identifying the best places to shop for certain items for the kitchen and home supplies. And saving wherever we can.<br />
<br />
Duh. I know people have been doing this all along LOL.But I am glad that I have finally come to my senses (hubby must be very proud of me, although he still complains when I accidentally choose an expensive place to eat. Eheh).<br />
<br />
Besides managing these expenses, I think that it is still not too late to adopt some wiser <a href="https://debtbusters.com.au/blog/top-money-habits-new-year/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">money habits for the new year </a>too, y'know, things like "spend after you save", and focusing on clearing up that darn credit card balance.<br />
<br />
I hope that I can see results too this year.<br />
<br />
So how about you guys? How do you manage your household expenses? Any suggestions to share?<br />
<br />
<br />

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
TO LIVE A MINIMAL LIFE - SOMETHING LIKE THIS:</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://i.pinimg.com/originals/45/8a/a9/458aa9c36b529e63ed47c7a67ac5d4a3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="622" height="640" src="https://i.pinimg.com/originals/45/8a/a9/458aa9c36b529e63ed47c7a67ac5d4a3.jpg" width="496" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
However, it is easier said that done people.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
But giving up I am not.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Last week I met up with a friend and she introduced me to this book:</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1418767178l/22318578.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="400" data-original-width="279" height="640" src="https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1418767178l/22318578.jpg" width="446" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<i>Yeah Ayuni, orang dah lama tahu. Kau baru tahu. LOL.</i></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I am now halfway with it, and I JUST CAN'T WAIT TO GET STARTED. It is very interesting I must say, especially the part where Marie Kondo mentions that in order to get our lives sorted out, it begins with the having a decluttered house.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
She also mentioned that owning only the things that you love actually gives more positive energy to the home, which I think makes sense because I do feel a lot refreshed and energized everytime I am done with tidying up and organizing my things. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Although I must admit that I am a bit skeptical about some of her advices (because I think it may not work for me), but hey, there is nothing wrong with giving it a try right?</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I hope I will achieve substantial progress in becoming a more minimalist person and live a minimalist life.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I guess this would be the best way to start.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
KonMari, here I come.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>

<br />
I tried, but whenever I did, I usually end up frustrated and my poor kids will be so confused with what I was trying to teach them.<br />
<br />
So I guess I have an excuse to leave homework to my husband. He seems to have a better temperament when it comes to teaching and explaining concepts to our children.<br />
<br />
Instead of explaining concepts, I choose to do hands-on activities with the kids. Like crafting, for example. Or maybe outdoor activities, or the ones that require us to move about or create something.<br />
<br />
Although I must admit that I usually run out of resources and idea.<br />
<br />
Good thing that I have discovered www.education.com - a resource site with PLENTY of teaching and activities ideas that we make use of for teaching the kids, especially at home.<br />
<br />
For Khaleeli, there are a lot of FREE online pre-school games ideas that I can use too. <a href="https://www.education.com/games/preschool/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Take a look at them here.</a><br />
<br />
Of course, there are also a selection of worksheets, activities and games for children of all ages!<br />
<br />
The team at Education.com has also generously offered to share one activity with my readers at Mommy Confessionals. I think it is brilliant especially if you have a garden at home (but you can also play inside if it's raining, honestly). Haha.<br />

Last week, I was honored to be invited again by the team at 11Street Malaysia to celebrate the launching of their latest SHOP THE WORLD campaign, currently running at <a href="http://www.11street.my/">www.11street.my</a>.<br />
<div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVJq1f8cb-jHFJtmDej-9MNNT_Y9ZxbzlO4mB5WmbDUCesfBCHOST4r96G6q4i6TXTq-9gGD29R1btBrLZlcXje893mn2s8cJiYHoQ0iyOeyJlE4FxPFIjgYLl6FOp7KfMzSiXhw/s1600/IMG_0089.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVJq1f8cb-jHFJtmDej-9MNNT_Y9ZxbzlO4mB5WmbDUCesfBCHOST4r96G6q4i6TXTq-9gGD29R1btBrLZlcXje893mn2s8cJiYHoQ0iyOeyJlE4FxPFIjgYLl6FOp7KfMzSiXhw/s640/IMG_0089.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
When I first received these lovely products from Biolane, the first thought that came to my mind was that they won't be smelling a thing.<br />
<br />
It is not a bad thing about the products though, it is just me because I am a sucker for nice smelling things. LOL.<br />
<br />
Anyway, I do understand that some scents and chemicals are actually not very good for sensitive skins and babies skin, therefore I totally get it why they don't smell so strongly like the conventional ones out there.<br />
<br />
Nevertheless, I still love how these Biolane skincare products actually have a bit of fresh and baby-ish smell (heaven, right?).<br />
<br />
At the same time, they are still specially formulated with Hydra-Bleine, a patented formulation made using active natural ingredients like wheat germ oil that nourishes and protects while helping to strengthen the skin's natural defenses.<br />
<div class="p2">
<span class="s1"></span><br /></div>
<div class="p2">
<span class="s1"></span><br /></div>
So, among all of these, my favourite would be the shower gel and the stretch mark cream.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHkvRvExTxPVn9a4_tEOGScfa_bX6L-FVUlRVeCK-JnfKUHEF7uPulbF6UZzWT1rlI8WxFwXbGUeu7t7xau5EkesZ_Sm4B7nEdtEWPXTmtyVY_SZejinTS4fwEjgDyTDATt2kVtA/s1600/IMG_0088.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHkvRvExTxPVn9a4_tEOGScfa_bX6L-FVUlRVeCK-JnfKUHEF7uPulbF6UZzWT1rlI8WxFwXbGUeu7t7xau5EkesZ_Sm4B7nEdtEWPXTmtyVY_SZejinTS4fwEjgDyTDATt2kVtA/s640/IMG_0088.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
The shower gel particularly for it's heavenly baby smell and silky texture which I can generously use on Khaleeli, and the stretch mark cream because the texture is just nice - not too sticky and not too light. Plus it also has a lovely, mild smell almost like a gentle baby powder.<br />
<br />
Well, I may not have a baby or a cracked nipple right about now, but I would love to share an up close of Biolane Nursing Balm too, in case you are a mom looking for the right nursing balm to help soothe cracked nipples (ouch, I know).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilvpwDLnXrECerrcctXkfJAMqOSB0qDKOjj3oTwoK-E-NTA3ke_S6O9ClZCriQ9cIGmO5Q4nMinNFBD1CFq7iRNYSpf1L4IrGsaBXxxRlrO1BgcH0fwL5xRyd1gKpwU1huhIihvw/s1600/IMG_0091.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilvpwDLnXrECerrcctXkfJAMqOSB0qDKOjj3oTwoK-E-NTA3ke_S6O9ClZCriQ9cIGmO5Q4nMinNFBD1CFq7iRNYSpf1L4IrGsaBXxxRlrO1BgcH0fwL5xRyd1gKpwU1huhIihvw/s640/IMG_0091.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
What I particularly love about Biolane Nursing Balm is it's sweet smell and the fact that it is made from 99% natural origin ingredients. So if you use it you won't have to worry about it being ingested by the baby as it is perfectly safe if the residue is still there when baby starts to nurse.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdcuCpP-eIjm0Q-pDzyA1JNpAqB39LwWtv40w1ULPRgaDfnEMASyMk352iusQMI7iLcdLxwQrXG961Ne9kDDTJSBEveK36nfXcxedz4YBSJZlKS7QxuWBnp8N18r0L4NmdE8GlTg/s1600/IMG_0092.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdcuCpP-eIjm0Q-pDzyA1JNpAqB39LwWtv40w1ULPRgaDfnEMASyMk352iusQMI7iLcdLxwQrXG961Ne9kDDTJSBEveK36nfXcxedz4YBSJZlKS7QxuWBnp8N18r0L4NmdE8GlTg/s640/IMG_0092.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
So yep, Biolane would definitely be the top of my list when I have my next baby (I would probably save some of this for it, I hope it doesn't go bad haha).<br />
<br />

<br />
<br />
Khaleeli is 2 and a half years old now (sorry I could not figure out how many months that is, LOL), and he is as bouncy, clumsy and rough as EVER.He gets knocks and bruises and falls and whatnots all the time, and the best part is he doesn't care. Gahh. Sometimes that drives me up the wall!<br />
<br />
<br />
Anyway, I know that is a sign of healthy development of his gross motor skills, and I am happy too. My husband and I love to think of ourselves as the outdoor-sy, adventurous parents so yeah, we let him play rough whenever the space and time permits. We also believe in how much outdoor play actually helps with the kids learning and development.<br />
<br />
A few months ago, B<a href="http://www.beebopcircus.com/" target="_blank">eeBop Circus at The School, Jaya One</a> contacted me for some trial classes at their center (apparently a perfect place for Khaleeli!)<br />
<br />
We were there for 4 times, and Khaleeli really enjoyed himself (after he got comfortable with the instructors and environment lah, he kan a very shy boy...).<br />
<br />
So basically BeeBop Circus is a educational and play center that focuses on learning through physical activities, music, dance, colours and moral values.<br />
<br />
They have this huge gym space with fancy theme and structures safe for the kids to bounce and play according to a specific curriculum, developed specially by early childhood educators and fitness instructors.<br />
<br />
Kids will need to be registered for a package and attend classes at BeeBop Circus Jaya One, Petaling Jaya every week within a specific hour. For Khaleeli's age, at least one parent must be involved to play together with their child (which is actually good exercise for mom and dad too! lol ).<br />
<br />
So here are some more photos for you to have a better idea:<br />

I honestly think that this place is amazing and enjoyable for kids! One drawback is for shy kids like Khaleeli, it is better to go early for them to get used to the environment and break the ice with the instructors. After that, they will totally have fun!<br />
<br />
They also have classes for older kids, so if you are interested just give them a buzz (pun intended)!<br />
<br />
Thank you very much BeeBop Circus Jaya One for this amazing and educational opportunity. But I tell you, I am not one of the lucky ones.<br />
<br />
My girl is one picky eater, and I honestly have run out of ideas on what to pack for her lunchbox (and it is only the 3rd week of her in Year 1..gahh!)<br />
<br />
Anyway, last few weeks I was honoured to be invited by MILO UHT Pack in the Energy for Champions campaign to attend a bento making workshop with one of the talented and inspiring mommy, Yan Diana from Kelab Bekal/Bento Malaysia Facebook Page. I tell you, she makes some kick-ass bento boxes, and she made it looks so easy! T_T<br />

One of it is to BE CONSISTENT when trying to get the kids to eat fruits and veges, which means that I should not give up when they refuse them the first few times.<br />

So in case you too need some morale boosters or some tips on bento-making, here are some that I managed to recall from the workshop:<br />
<br />
1) Prepare the ingredients as early as you can (e.g the night before or the weekend) and store it properly in a clean container<br />
<br />
2) Get the children involved when planning the menu for bento - ask them what they want in their bentos to get an idea on what food they like and dislike<br />
<br />
3) Get the right bento box for the kind of food (e.g a small container for condiments, a divided sections for rice and protein)<br />
<br />
4) Make use of kitchen tools when designing the decoration : toothpicks, cookie cutters, etc.<br />
<br />
5) Ask the children to not throw away what they do not like in the bento and bring it home instead. This way you'll know what they do not like or refuse to eat so you can form a strategy on how to finally get them to eat it! (this is brilliant haha)<br />
<br />

Thank you very much MILO for this fun and informative event! I promise I'll keep on trying to prepare healthy and yummy bentos for my kids. Teheeehe..<br />

<br />
Not that I am complaining, but boy he is more challenging than his sister, especially at this age of 2 where there is literally no negotiation or reasoning possible (he'll just ignore me, really) and continue with his business.<br />
<br />
Last month, I was invited to My Hero-Scar campaign launch by Hiruscar, a scar-healing and care brand that helps to reduce the visibility of scar on our skins.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1ll-41L7nbVO8XdDHa9Etvt1YYo8irgY8nUFJKOT_nqJOyAXeFUktS4hGxuENLuCdz2PdKcI1FKKBfuKjygxsxPZNHTy3wGuC-6NRP_E0lVqicrhM20V2V5eMD83-8vmNoabyvg/s1600/IMG_0070.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1ll-41L7nbVO8XdDHa9Etvt1YYo8irgY8nUFJKOT_nqJOyAXeFUktS4hGxuENLuCdz2PdKcI1FKKBfuKjygxsxPZNHTy3wGuC-6NRP_E0lVqicrhM20V2V5eMD83-8vmNoabyvg/s640/IMG_0070.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
During the event, I was delighted to be hearing from Dr Priyadarshini Srinivasan, a psychologist and lecturer at the Department of Psychologist, Sunway University. Dr Priya gave a talk about the importance of PLAY as a significant tool for parenting.<br />
<br />
Now wait a minute, all those banging, falling, climbing is actually good, according to Dr Priya. Because, the kid is actually learning A LOT.<br />
<br />
I guess it is normal for us parents to turn a little overprotective over the kids, when the truth is sometimes we just need to let them loose and release their energy through play.<br />
<br />
Outdoor play especially, benefits the kids tremendously as it helps with their emotional and physical development.<br />
<br />
For example, play helps them boost their creativity and imagination and it also teaches them problem solving and collaborations.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4vKbuLWaPchVVtOVKcx0OvmnySmMROGMZzJkQoMuJy9y8ArB__QAZWWKTVxY9eJ3dknu2DTqceF8GkqUV_wVuNciCNedHiGB4utQEDyeRP2OjaKLhX6FTCbEo8HsWEyfWONVbTw/s1600/IMG+001.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="446" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4vKbuLWaPchVVtOVKcx0OvmnySmMROGMZzJkQoMuJy9y8ArB__QAZWWKTVxY9eJ3dknu2DTqceF8GkqUV_wVuNciCNedHiGB4utQEDyeRP2OjaKLhX6FTCbEo8HsWEyfWONVbTw/s640/IMG+001.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Interestingly, playtime actually helps older kids release stress and energy, thus helping their brains perform better academically. Theory is when the kids release energy, their minds will be more free and liberated from restrictions and pent-up energy that we always see during their meltdowns.<br />
<br />
Hmm..makes sense.<br />
<br />
The thing is, with play, comes the risk of bumps and bruises which many parents would want to avoid (naturally, I guess).<br />
<br />
Don't ask me how much scar Khaleeli has on him. Not major ones thankfully, but little scrapes and bruises are quite a normal sight. And he really doesn't mind it. LOL.<br />
<br />
Dr Priya suggested that what we can do as parents is just let relax a bit and let them loose and play as they want. As long as the surroundings and materials are safe and age appropriate, we really should give them some space to explore and learn from their valuable playtime.<br />
<br />
I think that is pretty doable.<br />
<br />
As for the bumps and bruises and the potential scar, Hiruscar has brilliantly came up with Hiruscar Kids, a kid-safe scar care product that we can use daily on the kid's scarring to help reduce its visibility.<br />
<br />

Well, of course you gotta use it consistently and it works best on new scars ;)<br />
<br />
What I love most about it is that it is not greasy and it smells like jasmines :)<br />
<br />
Thank you Hiruscar for introducing your brand to our family and everyone here at Mommy Confessionals! :)<br />

<br />
A few weeks ago (and how aptly before my first trip to South Korea that deserves a post too), I was invited by the fabulous people at 11street.my to attend their launching of K-Market on their site.<br />
<br />
FYI, K-Market is a Korean grocery retailer located in Solaris Mont Kiara, and they do sell a wide array of fresh produce, dairy, food and beverages from South Korea! Now, they are selling their stuff online, which we can easily buy from 11street.my.<br />
<br />
<h3 style="text-align: center;">
<b><a href="http://www.11street.my/store/kmarket" target="_blank">SHOP AT K-MARKET WITH 11STREET HERE</a></b></h3>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Because Korean food is my next favourite after Japanese, I immediately said yes to that!<br />
<br />
I am a big fan of Korean food, especially those banchan (side dishes) and of course, kimchi! It is quite an acquired taste, but after I have acquired them, it has become my all time favourite (I do eat them as snacks too haha).<br />
<br />
During the event, we had the opportunity to learn how to cook some Korean-Malaysian fusion dishes, as demonstrated by Chef Lin, a Malaysian chef who seems to know how to mix those ingredients around.<br />
<br />
After that, we also had a Korean-pancake cooking competition, to which my team won! Yeay!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Now I know how to cook Korean pancake better. Yeay to that too!<br />

Yes, such brain does exist, people.<br />
<br />
But it does not mean that you are a bad mom when you have the mom brain. You are just simply being a mom.<br />
<br />
And I swear it gets worse the more kids you have.<br />
<br />
Like a few wires in the brain snapped when you had your first, and then more snapped and get tangled when you had your subsequent ones.<br />
<br />
These days I always find myself recalling things that used to be trivial to me.<br />
<br />
Like seriously, I freaking forget people's name. I hate myself for this because I used to be so confident about my name-remembering skills back in my younger days. I would NEVER ask for a person's name back in the days, but these days I seem to have gained this lovely, "mak-mak" skill of asking "sorry dear, can you tell me your name again?".<br />
<br />
And then comes all the requests from the teachers at Bella's school. Mommy needs to do this, mommy needs to find that. And I keep on freakin' forgetting to the extent that I feel so embarassed.<br />
<br />
What is wrong with me?<br />
<br />
Ughh.<br />
<br />
Then again, maybe this mom brain is legit after all.<br />
<br />
See, a mom had to endure this OUT-OF-THE-WORLD pain when giving birth and then a few months later she can simply say that she would love to have another baby.<br />
<br />
I mean, who else does that right??<br />
<br />
Yep, thank GOD for the mom brain.<br />
<br />
If not, I think humankind may have ended a long time ago.Ayuni A.http://www.blogger.com/profile/12955725674071317069noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25098622.post-66719371065705465302016-11-09T23:24:00.000+08:002016-11-09T23:24:38.892+08:00All you need to know about Tetra Pak!<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>Sponsored Post</i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Have you ever felt like you are not doing enough when it comes to giving the best-est, safest, nicest things to your children?</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Yea? Don't worry, you are not alone.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I always feel it too.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
When it comes to bringing up the children, I guess it is every parent's dream to be able to give their children the best and safest things. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
However, we've got to face it - we are not living in an ideal world. What is important is <b>WE CONSTANTLY TRY OUR BEST.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I think that is why consumers (especially parents) nowadays are savvier when it comes to purchasing products for their children and family. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Thanks to the internet, it is now more possible for us to make more informed decision when buying things for our consumption. And the best thing is all these good things are more available in the market as the demand grows, and it is easily being found compared to the older days. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Personally, I always go for natural ingredients/raw materials, cruelty-free, sustainable and environmentally friendly - that means they are safe to use, and safe to be disposed too. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Guess I am not alone here eh? 80%? Now that is a good sign. What's more with the recent government initiative that requires us to sort our domestic waste and teaching us to be more environmentally responsible.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Notice that green tree logo with "FSC" on the carton in the poster above? Yeah, I have seen it before, but honestly I am not very sure what it is all about. </div>

<div style="text-align: left;">
Well, what I know is that when it is green, it must be environmentally friendly but then, hey, let's not let ourselves drown in ignorance, shall we?</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Which is why I am inviting you my lovely readers to join me enlighten ourselves about Tetra Pak and FSC by joining them in their event this weekend!<br />

I think this is an excellent and fun opportunity to educate ourselves about Tetra Pak and FSC, and how they responsibly manage the packaging of our favourite beverages right from the forest to the shelf, and back to the forest again.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<br />
To be honest, I am not ready to part with the kindy schedule and how I can be so carefree when it comes to her not doing her homework and skipping school (come on, it's just kindy right? She is just a baby! Let her have some fun!)<br />
<br />
Truth is, she is already freakin' 6 years old, and she is soo going to the big kids school next year.<br />
<br />
So to celebrate her final year, I decided to throw her a nice birthday party at school a few weeks back (that was on 7th Oct 2016 actually), right on her birthday.<br />
<br />
This year, I ordered a nice cake from my trusted baker friend at <a href="http://www.facebook.com/flavoxpatisserie" target="_blank">Flavox Patisserie</a> and decided to just DIY the topping for Bella's chosen theme - Paw Patrol. Her cakes never failed me and so yummy. I even ordered from her during <a href="http://www.mommyconfessionals.com/2013/10/bella.html" target="_blank">Bella's 3rd birthday party.</a><br />
<br />
Instead of baking a cake, I cooked fried rice and fried some fries and nuggets for the whole school that day. By the way, all the stir-fry action really killed my triceps that day (it was already so sore from my new weightlifting workouts) so I ended up having darn sore triceps for almost a week! Gahhh sakit please.<br />
<br />
Anyway, as usual here are some photos of her lovely birthday.<br />
<br />
That smile on her face, her excitement - I'd kill for that anytime. It just made my day and even my triceps went numb for a while (OK fine, I was exaggerating. Teheheh)<br />
<br />
Major love.<br />

<div>
<br /></div>
Sometimes, my 5 year old little girl can drive me crazy like a pre-teen.<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I guess that is normal as she is already very in touch with her feelings and choose to express it very clearly, regardless of whether it is a good or bad feeling.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
In a way I think it is a healthy sign that she is able to show her emotions well. With that I do hope that she does not keep sad or angry emotions tucked deep inside her heart and let it turn into resentments, especially towards her own parents.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Anyway last night I was a little frustrated with her being so bossy and <i>"taknak mengalah"</i> with her little brother. Sometimes I just let it go and try to bear with the squabble. But there are times when it just drives me up the wall.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So she did get some scolding from me, and as usual she will show her protest by behaving quite "loudly" - that style where she stomps her feet and make sounds with her movement and all.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
When we were getting ready for bed, she was still showing her protest but she clearly also wanted my attention. I was calming down and ready to let everything go and cuddle with her and her brother and all.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I did not know exactly what she was trying to do but suddenly her jerky movements sent her towards the end of the bed and she ended hitting the wall with a thud. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I turned around and saw her curled on the floor, with a confused face. I guess it was not that painful but she seems to be deciding what kind of face to put on. In that dimly lit room (only the night-lamp was on), I saw a mix of I-am-gonna-cry, how-did-that-happened, and about-to-laugh face.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I was pretty sure that it did not hurt her that much, so I let out a little laugh and asked if she is OK. As expected she did not take it well. Perhaps I made the wrong move and she got even angrier. Oops haha.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
She stood up and lied on the comforter on the floor while I still struggle to keep my laughter within me (I swear the whole situation was so funny coz we did not even know how she could end up banging the wall and all! Wish I could describe it with words hahah).</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So I said to her "Laa Bella, becareful next time. How did you fall like that?"</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
She did not answer that question. But what she said next was the turning point and it just melted all my frustrations with her attitude away.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"Kalau Bella fall, mommy catch la Bella" <i>("If I fall, you should catch me mommy")</i> she said with a solemn face.</div>
<div>
<i><br /></i></div>
<div>
Awwhhh...Now I really did not see that coming from her.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Guilt quickly crept on me and I quickly got down to her level and offered her a hug and reassured her.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"Ohh..mommy tak sempat nak catch Bella tadi. Kalau Bella jatuh mestila mommy always catch you" </div>
<div>
<i>("I did not have time to catch you just now. I'd definitely catch you whenever you fall dear")</i></div>
<div>
<i><br /></i></div>
<div>
Thankfully, she seems to be more content after that. Then we all read some book and we all went to bed happily ever after.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Pheww..</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Gah, parenting is always tricky. Sometimes I don't even know if my responses and action are right or wrong. You will always have your child's best interest at heart, but at times it also requires you to be sort of the "bad guy". </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The kids are just babies now. I just wish that I'll survive their teenage years when it comes to that later.</div>

<br />
Dang, I HAVE COME A LONG WAY with this blogging thing.<br />
<br />
Can you believe that it has been 11 years since I started blogging? Phew, that is quite a long time if you ask me. It used to be a lot about myself and out of pure passion for writing.<br />
<br />
And then it grew into something beyond the screen. I started meeting lots of new people off-screen through blogging events, which opened up lots of new opportunities to expand my horizons and sometimes even push me out of my comfort zone.<br />
<br />
I am amazed at how I am able to keep this blog alive even when sometimes the dry spell can take so long, but in the end I always come back and give it the love it deserves.<br />
<br />
I am glad that many have start to appreciate my writings and it feels good to know that they are able to relate and sometimes benefit from the information that I share.<br />
<br />
In this blogging endeavour, there is nothing more valuable to me than those who believe in me and giving me their trust and support to keep this blog alive - that's you my readers, followers and my esteemed partners and brands.<br />
<br />

<br />
<br />
Ethissa is a growing Malaysian baby online shop run by Eric and Grace, a husband and wife team who aspires to provide the best, handpicked premium quality baby products for the deserving Malaysian parents.<br />
<br />
It all began when they both struggled to find essential items for their kids when they were working, and most of the time their preferred products are hard to find and also cost them a lot of money and time.<br />
<br />
Realising that it was in fact a common problem among parents these days, they then decided to run their own online baby shop with a focus on good quality products which are safe for baby and kids (I absolutely love their organic baby care range).<br />
<br />
The name Ethissa was created by combining the names of the lovely bubs - Ethan and Clarissa. Isn't that lovely? :)<br />
<br />
Ethissa aims to provide only the finest for Malaysian's little ones, and they are committed to be always on the look out for excellent baby products to carry in their store.<br />
<br />
Take a look at some of their products in store (I swear they are so adorable and oh so chic!) :<br />

<br />
I am just a normal human being, so every now and then I do get overwhelmed by what is happening in my life. That moment when you feel like you have so many things to do, but so little time to make use of. In the end you end up not doing anything productive anyway, and it just drives you crazier.<br />
<br />
Ironically, we all have 24 hours, nothing more nothing less. Somehow, there are people out there who are able to deal with it successfully, and I have decided to try to follow their footsteps.<br />
<br />
I have done a few things in the list above, and it has given me a very positive impact in my life.<br />
<br />
Like very positive and it makes me feel good about myself.<br />
<br />
I have tried no.1, no 3, no 12 (although still struggling), no 13 (although I do lose to cookies sometimes), no 16 (I swear this one really helps to clear the mind), no 17 (I think I have been liberated from fashion pressures), no 18 (same as no16) and I wish I could do no 20 a lot more often (the weather in Malaysia here is so unforgiving though.... ).<br />
<br />
So how about you? Have you done any one of these before? How does it impacts your life for the better?Ayuni A.http://www.blogger.com/profile/12955725674071317069noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25098622.post-91188752321642135802016-08-17T16:55:00.002+08:002016-08-17T16:55:32.467+08:00Another place to find natural products for your baby!Just like any other new parent, I was a naive one at the beginning.<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
When I had Bella, I was clueless.<br /><div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I guess that is a norm for first-time moms, so mostly my preparation was based on something that I already know or from what my parents have done for me.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
When it comes to toiletries and baby care, there was always this one brand that I trusted (probably many in Malaysia trust this brand too). </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
As I became more seasoned as a parent, I started to become more savvy about baby products and getting to know what are the real baby-friendly products.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I was surprised to learn that my used-to-be trusted brand was actually was not so child friendly at all!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I mean, the harsh chemicals, mineral oils and tear-free formulation? Did you know that they are not very ideal for children?</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Baffles me how we all easily fall for their spectacular marketing.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So I started looking for products that are as natural as possible, preferably made from natural ingredients and a bonus if they are organic (and wallet-friendly...huhu).</div>
</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Thankfully, there are more and more places that we can easily friend the real child-friendly products in the market out there. What is more awesome is that many also sells it online with interesting deals.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
There are a few favourite places that I usually go to find things for my children, but it does not mean that I am not open to exploring new ones.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So when I discovered <a href="https://www.ethissa.com.my/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Ethissa</a>, I was pleased to learn that they are actually run by passionate parents also seeking the best for their children. I personally feel closer to the shops like these, because usually these entrepreneurs really know what they are selling and they can easily relate to their customers.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Eric and Grace, the couple and founders of Ethissa have been kind enough to send me these lovely organic baby care products from <a href="https://www.ethissa.com.my/little-innoscents/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Little Innoscents</a> for me to try out with the kids.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Of course, I was more than happy to oblige!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0PIxlYgPHQOQfNNVnOVQ_iiLK5jHurxRJ30PONVWN09AN7RdDSGH32Pkx4pUlhatsATYhCiKaYVosiuHlvSFTyma2c73xsSQq2pv6-I4eBf6dQbXtKIu4PgQRwgcWlEdsgG5gJA/s1600/IMG_0058.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0PIxlYgPHQOQfNNVnOVQ_iiLK5jHurxRJ30PONVWN09AN7RdDSGH32Pkx4pUlhatsATYhCiKaYVosiuHlvSFTyma2c73xsSQq2pv6-I4eBf6dQbXtKIu4PgQRwgcWlEdsgG5gJA/s640/IMG_0058.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<b>Clock-wise:</b></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
1) Mineral powder - made from kaolin (white clay) with lavender and spearmint essential oils</div>
<div>
2) Intensive soothing cream - with soothing calendula (I love calendula because it is soo soothing)</div>
<div>
3) Hair and body wash - low suds and gentle, with Aloe Vera essence and sweet orange scent</div>
<div>
4) Moisture rich baby lotion - this one is a little sticky to my liking, but it smells divine with Aloe Vera juice and Ylang Ylang essential oil</div>
<div>
5) Goat's milk bar - with manuka honey and Ylang Ylang</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
In a nutshell, I really loved the subtle scents of the products. Well actually I am glad they have scents because I have a thing with lovely smelling products LOL. I personally love the texture of the mineral powder because it is smoother than other natural powders I have used before. The goats milk soap is lovely too. It lathers very well and has this dreamy scent close to a baby. Hehe.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Besides Little Innoscents, Ethissa also carries other natural and organic baby and child care products too, such as Butt Naked Baby, Buds Organics and Four Cow Farm. All of them are natural and organic options, perfectly safe for our little bubs.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
They also carry other brands like Ergobaby, SkipHop and the <a href="https://www.ethissa.com.my/storksak-bags/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">stylish Storksak diaper bags</a> (loveeeee) for the fashionable mommies out there. Hehe.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
There is also this helpful Baby Tips section that Eric and Grace posts and wrote themselves, as part of sharing and added value for Ethissa customers.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Ethissa regularly have weekly deals and free shipping deals as well. That's awesome.</div>
